Peter is a conservation educator with over 10 years’ experience in the conservation education field. Currently, he is the Bongo Surveillance Project /Rhino Ark conservation education programmes and outreach coordinator. Under his leadership, the organisation has been able to establish 21 bongo wildlife clubs in four mountain ecosystems. Peter has successfully delivered a conservation education curriculum to 86 different schools.
Rhino Ark has been able to win communities' trust and reached out to more than 2000 community members under his leadership. He has successfully facilitated and led community meetings and BSP Rangers’ AGMs.
Before joining BSP/Rhino Ark, Peter worked in management in the tourism and hospitality industries and as a professional guide and bird watcher. He was the founder of ‘‘Young Wildlife Explorers ‘’ which evolved into the Bongo Wildlife Clubs. He is also the 2010 winner of the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) Animal Action Award. His conservation mantra is, “Conserve where you are, it’s all about behaviour change’’.
