Patrick Avery has served as a member of the Rhino Ark Board of Directors since 2022. Patrick works as a civilian General Practitioner for the British Army Training Unit in Kenya. He is also specialized in pre-hospital medicine specifically in the field of wilderness medicine. He regularly works as the BBC remote location doctor for Sir David Attenborough. He is also on the teaching faculty for the Diploma in Expedition and Wilderness Medicine.

Patrick has been part of the Rhino Charge for many years, where he competes with family members in team Bundufundi.

Patrick has a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Bristol. He also holds a Diploma of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, University of Liverpool, as well as a Postgraduate Certificate in Global Health and Infectious Diseases, University of Edinburgh.
