The Cape buffalo is the latest and most advanced ruminants to evolve. It is mainly found in the Maasai Mara and a growing population has been noted in the Aberdare ranges.
Buffalo is known to possess aggressive traits with a show of dominance to its prey.
It is found in regions where there is permanent water and herbage. Healthy adults are vulnerable only to lions while the young, diseased or injured adults are vulnerable to spotted hyenas.
For its behavioural triats, it communicates with scents, sounds and sight.
