This year, continuous monitoring of cars is again
provided this year by Satellite GPS transceivers
from Rivercross Tracking Ltd in co-operation with
Skywave Mobile Communications. It is the third
year that Rivercross have provided such a facility
to entrants.
In addition to regular position updates on the
entrants cars throughout the event, the GPS includes
a ‘panic button’ that can be pressed
in case of emergency. This will alert the organisers
to any problem that a competitor may have and
give co-ordinates to which the air and ground
search and rescue teams can be directed.
“The concerns regarding installation of
the units have been largely addressed,”
commented Rivercross MD David Gachuche. Units
will be available for installation from the end
of April. He urged entrants to contact Rivercross
soonest to make arrangements for installation.
Rivercross new premises is at Wilson Airport –
Pewin House, 3rd floor. (First building on the
left after the police block at Shell Petrol Station).
Tel: 020 6005678/ 6005438/9, 0720 030581
Rivercross will have a tracking facility at HQ
